POSHAN Maah – Nourishing the Future, One Child at a Time

Sahaj Shakti Foundation’s Initiative for Child Nutrition

Every child deserves the right to grow up healthy, strong, and full of potential. At Sahaj Shakti Foundation, we are proud to be a part of POSHAN Maah — a nationwide movement focused on improving nutrition and health outcomes for children across India.

Why Child Nutrition Matters

The first few years of a child’s life are critical for physical growth and brain development. Poor nutrition during this stage can lead to stunting, anemia, and long-term health issues. We are working to ensure that every child, especially in underprivileged communities, gets access to proper nutrition, clean water, and health education.

Our Key Activities During POSHAN Maah:

  • Nutrition Awareness Sessions in schools and anganwadis

  • Healthy meal demonstrations for caregivers using local ingredients

  • Growth monitoring camps to track height, weight, and overall health

  • Distribution of nutrition kits with protein-rich snacks, fruits, and vitamins

  • Interactive games and storytelling to teach children about healthy eating habits

  • Workshops for parents on balanced diets and child feeding practices

  • Promotion of handwashing and hygiene to prevent infection and disease

Our Focus

  • Combating malnutrition, underweight, and anemia in children

  • Encouraging immunity-boosting, seasonal foods

  • Promoting mid-day meals and home-packed nutritious tiffins

  • Supporting mothers with education on infant and young child feeding

Impact on the Ground

Through our on-field volunteers and local partnerships, we have reached hundreds of children with nutritional support and guidance — helping them thrive both physically and mentally.

We believe that nourished children become confident learners, active citizens, and future leaders.
